Don’t forget Welcome Center....
Our church welcome center is found in the parlor (the room with tables across the hall from our large worship space). In the parlor, it is on the back wall across the room from where the treats are served. On that welcome center are signups for such things as ambassadors (ushers, greeters, etc.), PrimeTimers (older adults group), and meal train that we want people to see so they can contemplate participating with these activities and service opportunities.
So, when you come to worship, please check out the welcome center for signups and other information.
Sign up for Meal Train
When someone in our church is recovering from surgery, is newly widowed, or has a temporary loss of mobility that makes it difficult to find or prepare inexpensive, hot, nutritious meals, our church organizes volunteers to provide a few meals for them for a certain amount of time.
The meal train is organized electronically. When a need is identified, our coordinator, Melani Greer, sends an e-mail to those who agree to receive invitations to provide meals. The e-mail directs the user to an electronic signup system, and the user then creates the meal and drops it off to the recipient or some centralized location.
There is currently at least one meal train the church is providing. So, to sign up, register at the welcome center in the church parlor or see Melani Greer at 402-350-3581.
Volunteers Needed for READY! SET! GROW!
A summer garden camp in two sessions
for ages 2 through Rising 6th Grade.
Come help us grow! We are looking for volunteers that are interested in helping with our summer camps. Together we will plant an indoor summer garden and watch it grow through the lens of music, art, science, story, and dramatic play. It is a celebration of God’s wonder and hope!
Session One: June 16, 17 and 18
9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Session Two: August 18, 19 and 20
9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Camp is offered as an extension of our MMO ministry and GroundWorks Connect. There is no charge for attending so help from the congregation is sincerely appreciated! Volunteer for an hour, a day, an entire camp or to help care for plants in between the June and August sessions. Volunteer forms are available in the parlor or by contacting Anne Torgerson at anne.torgerson@rapidcityfirst.org.
