Summer Nights!
When the event called Summer Nights starts this Thursday, May 28, we will have 14 consecutive Thursday nights of opportunities to make our church known to those who are attending the music festival.
This first week we will be offering popcorn and corn-hole games, another week we will be giving out snow cones and doing face-painting, other weeks there are other activities. But to make this work, we need volunteers who are willing to serve the church by setting up, staffing the activities, and donating supplies for the activities we have planned for that night.
Therefore, you are invited to fill out this electronic sign-up sheet to let us know when and how you can help.
Thanks,
Pastors CC and Duane Coates
Monthly Mission Offering: WAVI
Our mission of the month for June is Working Against Violence (WAVI), which provides shelter and free services to survivors of domestic and sexual violence, human trafficking, and intimate-partner stalking.
The organization, started by our own Margot Burton and two other women in 1978, provides services that include a safe, secure shelter, a 24/7 crisis phone line, access to community resources, food, transportation, and comprehensive case management. The organization also advocates and educates for the safety and security of all persons.
Communion Sunday: May 31
Sunday services on May 31, will include Communion in lieu of Communion being served on Sunday, June 7, due to the pastors being at Annual Conference for the Dakotas Conference.
Peace with Justice Sunday
On Sunday, May 31, we have a special opportunity to come together as a church and take action for peace and justice in our world.
The United Methodist Church has long been committed to transforming the world through acts of peace, reconciliation, and justice. On this Peace with Justice Sunday, we give to support programs that work to reduce conflict, promote fairness, and create lasting change.
This is one of the eight special offers we receive each year for special days set by our denomination’s connectional system.
Half of the gifts given stay right here in our annual conference to support local justice ministries, while the other half funds national and global peace initiatives. Together, we can make a real impact!
Please begin praying about how God might lead you to participate in this important offering.
